Placement
Monday I had to tell my buddy this was my last week, at first he was confused and asked “like, your never ever coming back?”, this nearly broke my heart, but he quickly forgot and moved on to the days next activity. Today was a more low key day. We worked on sentences, and my buddy did very well writing out his sentence, he actually finished at the same time as the other kids when he usually is only half way done when they are finished and then fights you to finish the second half.
I also got to do another math group today, luckily I did not have to work with calculators (could not for the life of me teach them how to use calculators, need to work on that!). Instead we worked on writing numbers, I would tell them a number and they would write it out on their board. After math they had a special activity called “tool box” where they learn about self tools such as breathing and counting and listening, teaching them good behavior skills. A lady comes in and reads them a story about the tool they are learning that day, today was listening.
I am sad to say goodbye to my buddy, this was definitely a fun semester!
